Identify

The fungus produces salmon-pink, ear-shaped, gelatinous fruiting bodies, that grow either by themselves or in groups, usually near rotting wood. It grows up to 10cm high

About

These mushrooms can grow from the ground or right out of decomposing wood. They have a white spore print and are without gills. Common throughout the northern hemisphere, the rubbery flesh is edibleand may be eaten raw with salads, pickled, or candied.

Uses

  • Edible (although apparently pretty bland and rubbery) – Do not eat any fungi that has not been properly identified by a qualified professional, some are DEADLY when ingested.
